Open to the public, dozens of 'Hatters (of all ages and interests) dropped by to learn about the myMH plan and talk with the team. Many people shared their ideas at the imagine-station, and yet more dove into the public survey. Thanks for attending!

A mini-workshop with the Advisory Committee on Disability Issues, with interesting discussions and well-considered ideas posted by the group on "I imagine" cards. Definitely some valuable input for the creation of the myMH Plan!

Medicine Hat Public Library

Open to the public, residents were free to drop by and discuss their future visions for Medicine Hat. Thoughts included downtown revitalization, help for the disadvantaged, leveraging the City's assets for further economic success, and maintaining a vibrant arts and culture environment.

Advisory Group Forum

April 11, 2018

The myMH team met with the Youth Advisory Board, the Social Development Advisory Board, Arts & Heritage Advisory Board and the Urban Environment and Recreation Advisory Board in a workshop designed to generate ideas. "Cardstorming" provided everyone with an overview of various elements of the Plan, and allowed attendees to focus their thoughts and write down their ideas for the future of Medicine Hat.

Briefing at Municipal Planning Commission

Open to the public, the purpose of this session was to introduce the myMH project to the Municipal Planning Commission and to highlight some of Medicine Hat's long-term challenges and opportunities. Discussion involved growth projections, potential future climate changes, aging infrastructure and being adaptable to new technologies.

This session with the Medicine Hat Chamber of Commerce Business Advocacy Committee was to introduce the myMH project to the local business community. Items discussed included Plan alignment with the IDP, Medicine Hat's future demographic shift, emerging trends and the future sustainability of the retail sector.


Stakeholder Session with Medicine Hat Construction Association

Discussion involved items of importance to the local construction professionals regarding the long-range future of Medicine Hat, including how population and demographics will likely change, and the city's aging infrastructure (and eventual replacement thereof.)

Presentation and discussion with the Canadian Home Builders Association concerning future demographics and city structure, as well as the potential for significant changes in the types of housing which will be in demand in coming decades.

With about 400 visitors to the myMH booth, it was an exciting chance to talk to Hatters about the project and hear their big ideas! Congratulations to Kyla B., the winner of our "big pack" of locally made items.

The groups shared environmental initiatives and goals within the City, and the importance of incorporating policies within the myMH plan to preserve and protect natural spaces.
